The Community Action Network (CAN)

The Community Action Network (CAN) workshop will teach individuals in the church community how to turn their concerns, frustration, and helplessness regarding anti-family government policies, into effective confident action that will have a positive impact on their families, neighborhoods, and community. An overview of the legislative session and why Christians should be involved in public policy is the foundation of the entire training. Pastors and church leaders will learn about the legal dos and don’ts for churches during an election season and the myth of the separation of church of state. In this portion of the workshop, Mr. Jim Hochberg with the Alliance Defending Freedom will assist pastors in creating churches that legally participate in the legislative and political process. This training will also address current anti-family issues of concern and give a brief overview of the topics affecting Hawaii today. Can one person really make a difference? The workshop will also cover the iVOTE educational campaign in Hawaii and why the community should fully participate in an election year.
